These hands-on, integrative programs utlize an experience-based approach to nutrition. Programs may include taste-testing, decoding food labels, preparing healthy snacks and meals and developing menus.
Older students may explore the role of advertising in the promotion of unhealthy foods, compare and contrast the nutritional content of various foods and learn to recognize the role that emotions, stress and self-image play in our food choices.
Each program is designed to empower students to think critically and work cooperatively to make healthy choices while providing important life-skills.
Programs range from hour-long workshops to half-day, semester or year-long courses. Customized programs are available for different age groups and initiatives.
